Challenger Finfisheries Management Company Ltd is one of a number of CSOs (commercial stakeholder organisations) representing the property rights of quota owners in the New Zealand seafood industry. Quota owners can be fishermen or investors or companies who employ fishermen.  Click here for industry structure.

In practical terms, a CSO undertakes a representative and management role for the quota owners of a number of fish stocks within specific regions. For Challenger Finfisheries this area relates to FMAs (fisheries management areas) 7 and 8: the Challenger/Central (Plateau) and Central (Egmont) regions.
